The questions buyers actually ask.
This page is the practical, plain-English answer set. The authoritative legal text lives at /licenses, /terms, /privacy, and /refund-policy.
Buying
How do I buy a beat?
Find the beat, pick a license tier (MP3 Lease / WAV Lease / Trackout (Stems) / Unlimited / Exclusive), add it to the cart, and check out. Anonymous checkout is fine — an account is offered as an upsell after the purchase, never required.
Do I need an account?
No. Buy as a guest with just an email. We email the receipt, license PDF, and signed download links. If you create an account later with the same email, your purchases are linked automatically.
What payment methods do you accept?
Cards and several alt-payment rails through lava.top, plus crypto (USDT, BTC, ETH) via Cryptomus. Provider availability depends on your country. PayPal is on the roadmap.
Are prices in USD?
Yes. Local taxes / VAT are not included in the displayed price unless your payment provider explicitly handles them.
Can I negotiate the price?
Non-exclusive tiers are fixed-price. Exclusive deals are quoted manually — email support@lev-mourne.com with the beat URL, your release context, budget range, and any specific requirements.
Streaming & Distribution
What counts as a "stream"?
A play on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Tidal, Amazon Music, SoundCloud, or any equivalent service that delivers audio on demand. The cap is the combined total across all platforms, not per-platform.
What counts as a "distribution copy"?
A paid download (iTunes, Bandcamp purchase) or a manufactured physical unit (CD, vinyl, cassette). Free downloads do not count against the cap.
What happens when I hit the streaming cap?
You upgrade to a higher tier or stop distributing. The license does not retroactively void prior streams; it just bars further distribution beyond the cap. Email support@lev-mourne.com to upgrade — we credit the original purchase against the higher tier.
Do I have to display "Prod. by Lev Mourne"?
Yes on all five tiers. Required: "Prod. by Lev Mourne" in the song title and metadata on all distribution platforms.
Can I release the beat with vocals on streaming?
Yes — that is the whole point. Just don't upload the bare instrumental on its own (without vocals) on any tier.
Sync (using the beat in video)
Can I use the beat in my own YouTube / TikTok / Reels videos?
Personal, non-monetized clips with the beat in the background: yes on any tier. Monetized music videos where the beat is the song behind your vocal: limited counts on MP3 Lease / WAV Lease / Trackout, unlimited on Unlimited and Exclusive. Other monetized videos where the beat is the soundtrack (vlogs, sketches, gameplay, etc.): Unlimited or Exclusive only.
Can I license the beat into a TV show / film / national ad?
Unlimited and Exclusive only. MP3 Lease / WAV Lease / Trackout do not include sync rights of any kind for broadcast or commercial audiovisual use.
Will I get a YouTube Content ID claim from you?
No. We do not register the bare instrumentals with Content ID and do not assert algorithmic claims against lawful uses. You may register only the finished song, not the bare instrumental, stems, or any version likely to claim against Producer or prior licensees. Royalty collection happens through normal PRO channels (BMI / Songtrust), not through Content ID.
The vocalist on my song wants to register the song in their own PRO. What do I do?
List Protopopov Dmitrii as a co-writer / composer with a 50% songwriter share. The vocalist (and any additional co-writers) split the remaining 50%. This is industry standard for type-beat releases and is required by every license tier.
Files & Delivery
What files do I get?
MP3 Lease — tagged 320 kbps MP3. WAV Lease — MP3 + untagged WAV (24-bit / 44.1 kHz). Trackout (Stems) — MP3 + WAV + trackout stems archive. Unlimited — MP3 + WAV + stems. Exclusive — MP3 + WAV + stems + final master (tagged + untagged). A signed PDF license contract is included with every purchase.
Where are my files?
On the "Files Ready" page right after checkout. Also emailed to the address you used at checkout. Also at /account/purchases if you create an account with the same email.
The download link expired. What now?
Signed links expire after 15 minutes for security. Visit /account (signed in) or /resend-downloads (anonymous) to mint fresh links anytime.
I lost my receipt email. Can I get it back?
Yes — go to /resend-downloads and enter your email and the order number, or sign in to /account if you registered. We can also resend manually — email support@lev-mourne.com.
Can I get the original session / project file (FL / Logic / Ableton)?
Not included by default. For Exclusive purchases this can be discussed during the manual deal flow.
Exclusive
What does Exclusive actually mean?
Three things: (1) the beat is removed from the catalog once payment clears, (2) you receive the Producer-owned master recording rights in the delivered beat master, subject to previously issued non-exclusive licenses, and (3) publishing remains split 50/50 between Producer and Buyer while you keep the Unlimited-tier usage scope.
What does it not include?
The Producer keeps the 50% composer share of the underlying composition's publishing rights, forever. This is administered through Songtrust / BMI globally and is non-negotiable. You keep the 50% writer share for any lyrics you write, plus 100% of master royalties for the song you release.
Can I buy out the publishing share too?
By default, no. Talk to us if this is critical to your release; we treat it as a separate, custom deal.
What if someone already bought an MP3 / WAV Lease for this beat before I went Exclusive?
Their license stays valid under its original terms. We cannot retroactively revoke it. The beat is removed from sale going forward, so no new non-exclusive licenses are issued.
How do I start an Exclusive deal?
Click "Inquire" on the beat or email support@lev-mourne.com with the beat URL, intended use, release context, and budget. We respond within 48 hours.
Payments
Is my card data safe?
Card details never reach our servers. Payment is handled directly by the provider (lava.top) on their PCI-compliant infrastructure. We only see a transaction reference and the order amount.
Do you support cryptocurrency?
Yes — USDT, BTC, ETH via Cryptomus.
Can I get a VAT-compliant invoice?
If your payment provider acts as Merchant of Record for your jurisdiction, the receipt issued by the provider is the VAT-compliant document. For B2B requests, email support@lev-mourne.com with your business details.
I see a pending charge but no order in my account. What's going on?
The webhook may not have reached our system yet (rare — we have a 15-minute polling backstop that catches dropped webhooks). If the charge has been pending for more than 30 minutes, email support@lev-mourne.com with the transaction reference and we will reconcile manually.
What happens if I dispute a successful charge with my bank (chargeback)?
This revokes the underlying license. The song built on the beat must be removed from distribution. Genuine refund cases should go through support@lev-mourne.com first — we resolve the great majority of legitimate cases without bank involvement.
Credits & Tagging
Where do I credit you in the song metadata?
On your distributor (DistroKid / TuneCore / etc.): list Protopopov Dmitrii as co-writer / composer with a 50% songwriter share. On streaming services and metadata: display "Prod. by Lev Mourne" in the song title and metadata on all distribution platforms. On music video uploads: mention "Prod. by Lev Mourne" in the description.
Is "Lev Mourne" my legal credit name or my PRO name?
Lev Mourne is the producer credit you display publicly. Protopopov Dmitrii is the legal name registered with PRO and Songtrust — that's the name distributors and PROs need in metadata so royalties route correctly.
Do I need to tag you in social posts?
Not required, but appreciated and helpful for both of us. @levmourne on relevant platforms.
Can I sample / chop / re-arrange the beat?
Yes. Trackout, Unlimited, and Exclusive include the stem files specifically so you can. MP3 Lease and WAV Lease come as a single mix.
Can I resell the stems, use them in a sample pack, NFT, or AI dataset?
No. No tier allows resale of the beat, stems, loops, or isolated elements as a standalone beat, sample pack, loop kit, stock asset, NFT/tokenized asset, beat-leasing product, or AI training / model-building dataset.
Support & Disputes
How do I contact support?
Email support@lev-mourne.com. We aim to respond within 48 hours on business days.
Someone filed a copyright claim against my song that uses your beat. What do I do?
Forward the claim notice to support@lev-mourne.com along with your order number. We will review against the license contract on file and respond — usually with a counter-notice and supporting documentation.
I think someone is using your beat without buying a license.
Email support@lev-mourne.com with the URL of the suspected unlicensed release. Include any context (release date, distributor, artist name).
How do I delete my account?
Email support@lev-mourne.com to request deletion. A self-service flow at /account/delete is on the roadmap and will be available before public launch. Note that purchase records are retained per the Privacy Policy for legal and tax-audit reasons even after account deletion, but identifying personal data within them can be redacted.
