Five tiers, one beat catalog.
Every beat is sold under five license tiers — four non-exclusive (MP3 Lease, WAV Lease, Trackout (Stems), Unlimited) and one exclusive. The buyer-facing rights below match the per-purchase PDF contract issued at checkout. Cap numbers, sync rights, and master ownership are the same across every beat in the catalog. For a plain-English summary, see /license-faq; for general questions, see /faq.

Royalty collection and crediting (all tiers)
The Producer is registered as a writer / composer with BMI (United States) under the legal name Protopopov Dmitrii, with publishing administered by Songtrust. Composer share royalties are collected globally through reciprocal agreements with PRS (UK), GEMA (Germany), SACEM (France), JASRAC (Japan), SOCAN (Canada), and 60+ other societies.
Buyer obligations on every release derived from a Lev Mourne beat:
- Co-writer metadata. When uploading the song to any distributor (DistroKid, TuneCore, CD Baby, UnitedMasters, Stem, etc.), list
Protopopov Dmitriias a co-writer / composer with a 50% songwriter share. Failing to do this prevents the Producer from collecting the composer share owed under this license and is a material breach. - PRO registration. The Buyer is responsible for registering the song with the Buyer's own PRO and listing the Producer as co-writer with 50% share.
- Producer credit. Where required by tier (see comparison table), the required credit is
Prod. by Lev Mournein song title and metadata on all distribution platforms. - No conflicting registration. The Buyer must not register the underlying composition in any society or sample-clearance database that excludes the Producer's writer share.
Master royalties. For non-exclusive tiers, the Producer retains ownership of the underlying master recording (the instrumental). The Buyer's distributor delivers the finished song (instrumental plus vocal), and the Buyer collects master royalties on that finished song. The Producer does not claim master royalties on the Buyer's finished record. The Producer may continue to release, license, or place the original instrumental separately.
Sync income. When sync income is generated from a song built on a non-exclusive beat (Unlimited tier), the standard split is: 50% composer / publishing to the Producer, 50% composer / publishing to the Buyer (or per the Buyer's split with co-writers); 100% master share to the Buyer (since the Buyer owns the master of the finished song). For Exclusive deals, Buyer holds the transferred beat-master rights and the master share in the finished song, while publishing remains split 50/50 between Producer and Buyer unless a separate written publishing buyout is signed.
Things you may not do under any tier
These restrictions apply to every tier, including Exclusive, and survive termination:
- Resell, redistribute, or sub-license the beat as a beat (the bare instrumental).
- Upload the beat, stems, loops, or isolated elements to BeatStars, Airbit, Traktrain, a sample marketplace, stock-music library, or any similar resale / re-licensing platform.
- Upload the untouched instrumental to streaming services without vocals.
- Register the beat or the underlying composition with any service that automatically claims rights against the Producer (notably YouTube Content ID for the bare instrumental).
- Use the beat, stems, loops, or isolated elements to train, fine-tune, validate, or build any machine-learning or generative-AI model or dataset.
- Mint, sell, or otherwise exploit the beat, stems, or isolated elements as an NFT, tokenized asset, sample pack, loop kit, construction kit, or standalone stock asset.
- Use the beat in content promoting hate speech, sexual content involving minors, terrorism, or any unlawful act.
- Claim authorship of the underlying instrumental composition. Co-author credit on the finished song is correct; sole authorship of the instrumental is not.
Breach of any of the above terminates the license immediately, voids the right to continue distribution of any record built on the beat, and entitles the Producer to seek injunctive relief, takedown of the offending release, and recovery of all royalties earned in breach.
License contract delivery and storage
- A versioned PDF contract is generated at checkout via pdf-lib, signed by the Producer, and emailed to the buyer along with the audio files. The PDF includes the operative tier-specific grant, limits, restrictions, credit, publishing, digital delivery, and dispute language for that purchase.
- Each contract carries a unique UUID, a SHA-256 hash for tamper detection, an issue date, and the template version (e.g.
v1.0.unlimited). - The buyer can re-download the contract anytime from /account (signed in) or via the "resend my downloads" flow at /resend-downloads.
Inquire about an Exclusive deal
Exclusive purchases are quoted manually so availability, final price, transfer language, and delivery expectations are confirmed before payment. Send the beat URL, intended use, release context, and budget range — we respond within 48 hours.
